Relax near Timisoara - Gyula Castle Spa
If you're looking for a place to relax near Timisoara, Gyula Castle Spa is a very good choice (2 hours by car). It has 19 pools (!!), and it has won the four-star lido and thermal baths classification, the highest category qualified by the Hungarian Baths Association.
Some of the pools are:
- a wave pool. The waves are almost 1 m high they are in operation for 5-7 minutes every ½ hour;
- a water slide pool. You can plop into the water from three slides, and the water depth increases gradually;
- 25 m and 50 m swimming pools;
- Wellness Center. A big indoor water park, it has various fun elements for recreation and relaxation;
- children’s water paradise, a small wading pool.
Apart form that, it has a beautiful environment, a 200-year old, 8.5 hectare natural park. The thermal medicinal water (3 pools with a lot of funny water massaging options, available in all seasons) is known to have very good recovering effects for some diseases.
For all these there's one entrance fee of only ~8 euros (1950 HuF).
